CLOTHE HIM,
LORD, FOR THE WEDDING FEAST!

You
conquered his storm
with flashes of luminous waters
and made him heir to Your kingdom.
A testament of wheat ears
upon his barren, desolate lands.
The voice of infinity,
hidden within the traces of mystery,
revealed to him the future flowing from the rock:
he shall sing dawns among the pines,
he shall have swarms of honey scented with basil,
and bouquets of upright suns
shall adorn his breast.

The gusts
of shadow,
in his fevered exodus toward the night,
raised him upon fleeting foams;
bitter marshlands dried his stream.
He was a vision of cypress in the fleeting dawn.
And he broke the sacred plan
through ancient scars upon his clay.
But today Your radiant path shines through the valleys,
calling him to the bridal feast.

Clothe him
in innocence
for the white banquet of Your wedding feast!
He shall draw near to Your threshold and invoke Your name;
his humble swallow, lost within the landscape,
shall fly upon Your dove-like wings;
he shall remember Your time upon the altar of the world,
he shall entwine himself within Your outstretched arms;
he shall grow as fertile wheat from Your sowing;
at the third cup he shall toast
with the magic juice of Your vine;
he shall proclaim the glory of Your eternal banquet.

The seeds
ripen
with the captive waters of Your love,
liquid architecture of submerged temples
since the primal day of clay and stone.
The fountains shine forth,
affirming Your immutable gifts,
and an ecstasy flowing toward the evening sea
announces to him an awakening of wandering rivers.

If You
invite him, my King,
and clothe his stripped stem
with white lilies,
he shall sing dawns among the pines,
he shall have swarms of honey scented with basil,
and bouquets of upright suns
shall adorn his breast.
