trembling softly in glowing embers:

Love–air, filling every space
and sustaining the inspiring heartbeat,
wearing itself away in huts and palaces:
That is love.

 

Love–water, flowing hour by hour
to grant all beings strength,
unceasingly condensing and evaporating:
That is love.

 

Love–earth, womb of fruit, faithful bride,
offering nourishing abundance,
opening itself in countless furrows, generous:
That is love.

 

Love–force, lifting us toward the heights,
a divine breath of essence, a fervor
that transforms clay into passion:
That is love.

 

To share both flower and thorn upon the road,
to live for another life without sorrow,
to turn two futures into one destiny:
