ANGUISH ON THE
THRESHOLD OF MADNESS

Anguish throbs
through narrow corridors
interwoven,
a warp of aborted beliefs
upon telluric looms;
expectation of spark, ember, fire,
within an impious frost.
Anguish, anguish
lashes specters,
nomads in sleepwalking lethargy.
Anguish, anguish
rides sobbing
upon subdued rainbows
beneath the mist.
Anguish throbs,
beating in rhythm with shrouds,
ruminating bitter greenness
through cavernous cracks,
where it is possible
to scream without a voice,
to moan while drowning tears.
Anguish on the
threshold of madness.
Mystery drips across the brow
its millennial dampness,
lamenting extinct dinosaurs,
fossils lying still
as lie the pure thoughts
once sovereign over the steppe.
Anguish, anguish
of galloping led by cyclopes,
without direction, into chaos,
into the filthy stellar wasteland,
yearning for full moons
while thorns
pierce the temples.
Anguish on the
threshold of madness.
To be or not to be
a motionless figure,
a stalagmite rising toward the sky,
a mental crater
upon an agonizing sphere
that has forgotten the end of destinies.
